3-31-06 - President Bush arrived in Texas Friday to spend the weekend at his ranch near Crawford, as immigration issues draw more attention.

Bush earlier Friday was in Cancun for meetings with the leaders of Mexico and Canada. Bush said he believe it's important to enforce laws protecting borders. The Texan reiterated support for a "guest worker" program to let undocumented immigrants already in the U.S. remain to fill low-paying jobs that Americans won't take.

Bush, during a news conference with Mexican President Vicente Fox and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, said he wants a "comprehensive bill." A bill being debated in the U.S. Senate contains such a guest-worker proposal.

The House has passed rival legislation to tighten border security.
