SHERMAN, TX -- He's been on death row for 24 years, convicted of quadruple murder just outside of Sherman. Now a new development in the case of Lester Bower, Jr.

Bower's attorneys last week presented a motion requesting DNA testing of evidence found at the murder scene.

That motion was argued before 15th State District Judge Jim Fallon one week ago. But the defense had also filed an appeal of Bower's 1984 conviction.

Now the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals has announced it will wait to rule on that appeal until Judge Fallon has decided whether or not to allow DNA testing.

Fallon's decision could come as soon as next week.

It's a delay all right, but a delay by the state. Mr. Bower has been asking for discovery of new evidence since 1989. It has been the State of Texas that has been the delay. Don't believe Joe Brown or anyone who says it is Mr. Bower.

there is no NEW EVIDENCE, there are no NEW WITNESSES. this is a delay tactic and that is all. DNA evidence will not show when someone was there, only that someone was there at some point in history. Even if it shows someone else was there, it could be a construction worker when the hangar was built. It wont show that someone else was there on the day of the murder and it won't show that Bower is innocent.

There are too many things that didn't add up, but if this NEW EVIDENCE and DNA testing is allowed to have their day in court, those things will add up! He is innocent and has served the time for some others crime. Judge Fallon and The Court of Criminal Appeals has the opportunity to right this wrong! (Reguardless of Joe Brown's comments and the pressure of the local law enforcement who doesn't want to admit there was a mistake made!) We pray that Judge Fallon and The Court of Criminal Appeals will allow Les' defense to present their case....to prove his innocence and the truth!

I think he was the fall guy for someone else's crime. There were too many things that did not add up.
