4-10-06 - Wildfires in Texas and Oklahoma have destroyed many homes and lives and Monday a Carter County family received the first helping hand from FEMA and now have a roof of their own over their heads.
The Dumos Family has been living with relatives since their home on Vango Road was destroyed in January. Monday they received a manufactured home courtesy of FEMA and it was the first to be delivered in Oklahoma complete with furniture and utilities. For 18 months the family will get to live in the home until a new, permanent residence is established.
FEMA is expecting to deliver another manufactured home in Oklahoma soon to a family in Spencer.
