Prosecution Closes Death Penalty Case

4-12-06 - Federal prosecutors rested their case Wednesday in the death penalty trial of al-Qaida conspirator and former Norman resident Zacarias Moussaoui.

Moussaoui shouted, "God curse you all" after prosecutors closed their case seeking his execution. The judge and jury were out of earshot. Before jurors were sent home one last exhibit showed the pictures of all but 92 of the nearly 3,000 September 11th victims.

Earlier Thursday the cockpit recording of the final moments of United Flight 93 was played with passengers being heard pleading for their lives. In the end there are crashing sounds as passengers apparently try to reclaim control. One voice says, "I am injured." And a hijacker asks, "Shall we finish it off?"
