4-12-06 - Pontotoc County Deputies arrested a 66-year old female fugitive on Tuesday night around 9:00 p.m. Wanda Fern Russell of Allen had pleaded guilty to several felony charges in the county.
The felony fraud cases stem from selling and disposing of encumbered property. As part of Russell’s plea agreement, she was ordered to pay victim restitution of a little over $89,000, while still owing over $2,500 in hot checks. She was sentenced to three years in the Oklahoma Department of Corrections in February.
Russell failed to report for her sentence so that is when authorities started to search for her and learned she had left her residence in Allen. She was hiding in a house near Noble, Oklahoma where she was found in a bedroom closet.
