Back in December when the city was working on funding phase two of their project to extend the current walking trail in Ardmore, the bid they took for the six hundred thousand dollar project in December was too high. So the city had to put it on the back burner.
But since then, more construction companies have come forward with bids, and last night, city commissioners accepted a bid to finish the project.
The new bid is around 507 thousand dollars and the plans are to take the current trail and extend it one mile to Mount Washington Street.
Officials say they expect work on the project to begin sometime around the first of June, and the completion should come about three to four months afterwards.
