Big Music Acts Headline Magnolia Fest

The Magnolia Festival is known for its great headliners that perform at no cost to the attendees. This year the headliner is Gene Watson, who will be on the Main stage on Saturday June 3rd at 9:00 p.m. He has been on the country scene for many years and is always a crowd pleaser. Watson has been recording since the late 1960s. According to his website, Watson is a vocalist that their peers revere, the ones true music lovers hold in awe. He is a "singer's singer" if one ever breathed.

Watson’s great classics include “Love in the Hot Afternoon”, “Paper Rosie”, “Should I Come Home”, and “14 Carat Mind”. He has a repertoire of timeless classics the true country music fans know and love. Check out Gene Watson and his other hits at www.gene-watson.com.

Brian Gowan will be opening for Gene Watson. Brian has become a crowd favorite with the locals. He has been at the festival the last few years. He is best known in this area for his newly released song, “Choctaw People”. The song was collaboration with Brian Gowan, Mike Bailey, Assistant Chief of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, and retired Texas Ranger John Aycock who wrote this meaningful tribute to the strength and resilience of the Choctaw people. The Magnolia Festival kicks off at noon June 2nd and concludes Saturday evening with the free concert. The Festival will have activities, foods, and entertainment for the entire family in Downtown Durant.
