4-28-06 - A Spanish recording of the Star Spangled Banner is stirring up debate. Top Latino recording starts released their version of the National Anthem Friday.
Their label is encouraging Hispanic stations across the country to play the track at 6 p.m. central time Friday night. President Bush did not mince words when asked what he thought about the situation. Bush says, "The National Anthem ought to be sung in English."
Bush says people who want to be U.S. citizens "ought to learn English." And he says they should learn to sing the anthem in English. The president says it's important "that we not lose our national soul."
It was a British producer who came up with the idea as he saw it as a way to honor millions of immigrants seeking a better life in America.
