4-30-06 - OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - North Carolina authorities arrested a man wanted in connection with the death of a man whose body was found in a restroom at an Interstate 35 rest stop.
The body of Rufus Thomas Lowery of Grand Prairie, Texas, was found Mnday at the rest stop near Thackerville.
Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Jessica Brown says that authorities arrested Timothy Byford today on a first-degree murder warrant.
She also says that Byford, who is from North Carolina, was found in Lowery's vehicle that was missing from the crime scene in Oklahoma.
First News has also confirmed that Shawn Leggett, also wanted in the case, was captured late Sunday night. U-S Marshalls confirm that Leggett was in the vehicle with Byford, but bailed out and took off on foot. He is now behind bars.
