Tera Baker

ARDMORE, Okla. -- A couple traveling home to Granbury, Texas, made an unscheduled stay in Ardmore overnight Wednesday after police say 23-year-old Tera Kay Baker started beating a male companion with a metal baseball bat alongside Interstate 35.

Officers broke up the assault early Wednesday morning near exit 29. They say Baker had been drinking. The man had to be taken to the hospital where he was treated and later released.

Baker was booked into the Carter County Jail on $10,000 bond.

"Their general statement was they were so intoxicated they couldn't recall actually what occurred, and the lady suspect taken into custody later made a statement that she didn't even recall hitting the individual, " Cpl. John Randolph of the Ardmore Police Department said.

The car that couple was traveling in was impounded by authorities.

See these people where drinking. And they couldnt recall exactly what happened. And she didn't recall hitting the individual. And we want to lower the drinking age to 18. Good Grief
