05-03-06 - The Red Cross in Cooke County was hit by the storms from last Friday.
A Gainesville warehouse that held water, Gatorade, and other supplies for fire departments was almost destroyed Friday evening. The building was actually owned by a Gainesville resident, who lost his home along with the shelter, but the city is stepping up to put those supplies in a safe spot. The city of Gainesville offered to move storage to their fire station saying it will be more convenient.
Back in March, the Red Cross’ Grayson Chapter was struck by lightning and suffered about $50,000 in damage.
