5-6-06 - WACO, Texas (AP) - Officials with the National Weather Service say they're trying to determine if it was a tornado or just strong winds that damaged parts of Waco early today.
Winds and heavy rain uprooted trees, toppled power lines and damaged buildings to parts of the city.
No injuries have been reported.
Officials say thousands of Waco residents are still without power.
The storms also left some Austin residents in the dark and prompted numerous high water rescues for motorists who became stranded in their vehicles in San Antonio.
