05-08-06 - Financial shortfalls and lack of manpower are the main reasons Oklahoma’s ambulance systems are suffering. A task force assigned by Governor Brad Henry released a report outlining the problems that face statewide ambulance services.
Emergency Medical System could collapse in a worst-case scenario. Ambulance services in Texoma, as well as others across the state are feeling the pinch as well. But while things could be a lot worse, SOAS says the shortages still hurt.
The report was also given to the state board of health. The final report is due on October 1.
