Real-Life Tornado Drill

5-9-06 - A tornado drill, complete with emergency crews, is underway in Ardmore. The emergency management department is conducting the drill by sounding sirens and activating 1st responders.

Emergency Management as well as the police and fire departments will be simulating an actual tornado emergency Tuesday afternoon. Between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. the sirens will go off and everyone will spring into action.

The simulation will give residents a chance to determine their plans at work, home, and school in case of a tornado. Officials say if there is an actual threat of severe weather Tuesday, the drill will be postponed to another day.

You can visit FEMA’s website on tornado simulations, as well as to find more information on tornado's.

The Red Cross has more information on how to be prepared for severe weather like tornado's on their website.
