ALEXANDRIA, LA -- Several local ambulance crews from both sides of the river continue to work Tuesday night in Louisiana as evacuees make their way back home.
First responders from Johnston County are in Alexandria, Louisiana, helping transport patients to hospitals.
The deployment of medical crews from a number of states makes this the largest single gathering of EMS crews in the nation's history.
"Right here on scene it gets really cloudy and have showers. The breeze does the same thing probably have gusts of 30-35 miles per hour. We are just kind of in a holding pattern, waiting for our number to come up and ship us out again," Johnston County ambulance director Kenny Power says.
