5-14-06 – Authorities in Carter County are searching for a missing man, last seen heading out for a swim in Lake Murray. A 57-year-old man from Yonkers, New York was last seen walking down to the piers near the Lake Murray Lodge on Thursday night.
The man’s identity has not been released, but authorities say the man was in town for a convention. An attendant at the Lodge told authorities the man claimed he was going for a swim Thursday night. Witnesses said the man appeared to be intoxicated. On Friday, the man was reported missing.
Saturday, dive teams from Carter County and OHP searched Lake Murray for a body, but did not find one. However, the man’s hotel key card was discovered on a pier.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s Lake Patrol division is investigating.
