Woman Critically Injured in Boating Accident

5-28-06 – A boating accident on Lake Texoma sent at three people to the hospital Sunday evening. The crash was called in to authorities at around 6:30 p.m. It happened near the Soldier Creek boat ramp in Marshall County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 25 foot Baja Boat hit a large wave, went airborne, hit a second wave, and then turned violently – injuries some of the passengers on board.

Melissa Stoval of Kingston was flown to OU Medical Center in critical condition. She sustained head and arm injuries.

Two other passengers: Shawn Stoval of Kingston and Zach Allen of Deport, Texas were treated for head injuries at a local hospital. Both have been released.

The boat operator and a fourth passenger were not hurt.
