05-31-06 - Construction is wrapping up at what will soon be Oklahoma's largest casino, and its officials say they need more people to apply for jobs at the facility.
The Riverwind Casino is being built by the Chickasaw Nation and will cover 219,000 square feet at Interstate 35 and Highway 9, just south of Norman.
It's scheduled to open on July 17th. More than 700 people have been hired to work as cashiers, cooks, IT service technicians, hostesses and ticketing clerks. Casino spokeswoman Kim Koch Thompson says they want to hire about 1,000; 184 more people.
Riverwind will feature a Showplace Theater, two restaurants, a food court, more than two-thousand electronic gaming machines and more than 70 black jack and poker tables.
