Roger Duvall

PITTSBURG COUNTY, Okla. -- A former McAlester firefighter already facing four felony charges will likely be looking at more after authorities say he escaped from jail and drove away in a city vehicle.

Pittsburg County Sheriff Jerome Amaranto says 46-year-old Roger Dale Duvall now is being held on new complaints of escape and larceny of a vehicle.

Amaranto says Duvall apparently slipped away after a group of inmates were taken out to exercise Wednesday night.

Duvall was caught early Friday after authorities say he went to a casino in Ada.

Amaranto also says he's suspended two jail employees and has ordered his staff to stop taking inmates out for exercise until the new jail is completely finished.

Duvall has multiple drug charges and was being held on a $100,000 bond for possession of drugs with intent to distribute.

Pittsburg County jailers say Duvall is a former employee of the McAlester Fire Department.

OK, folks, everyone is griping about the jailers and their falling down on the job, but has anybody gotten the sheer stupidity of an escaped prisoner just stopping by at a casino to unwind & gamble? Did he not read the Prison Escapees Handbook? Especially the part that says (Run fast, run far away from the jail as possible. Do not pass GO, do not collect 200 dollars). Or am I the only one that has a laugh at the bad guys' expense? I return you now to your regular P&M-ing, already in progress

Thank you Oklahoman@3;37, Okies are ALWAYS gripping about something, yet they never vote FOR anything, not Schools, not Police, not Prisons not anything, that is why it is the meth capital of the world, backwoods rednecks,"Hell no, im not voting for more taxes, I'll have to sell some of my Chickens to pay'em"........

To California...The answer is probably in the pay scale of the security officers, they can make better money at a fast food restaurant than working in a county facility that operates on a minimal budget. The problem is with the people of the county that dont vote in tax increases to cover costs of the problem.

Seems to me that if an escapee was caught, the agency that caught him should get some recognition!!! HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW WHERE HE WAS CAUGHT!!??!! Give them some freakin credit KXII!!

Is Pittsburg close to Stillwater or Cushing Okla? There is another Duvall that's MIA.

It's a good thing he wasnt being moved to the "insecure" facility. This is about the third person to escape this month, What's up with that?
