DENISON, Tex. -- Community leaders gathered Friday at Grayson County College for the annual economic summit.
They discussed development around the county, and specifically, in Denison, updating participants about everything from road projects to retail developments.
Scott Smathers of the Denison Development Alliance says this is an exciting time for the city.
"From the downtown point of view, we have some new businesses coming in there. We have a lot of growth looking along 75. The new hospital is coming in is of course good, the new hotel, conference center. So, we think the overall growth for Denison is really pretty good in the future," said Smathers.
Over the next few decades, authorities say they hope area will continue to grow and bring new opportunities and a higher salary base.
