PARIS, TX-- Hundreds filled Wildcat Stadium and lined the streets for the Rotary Clubs 29th Annual Municipal Band Concert and Firework Show.
Not only did Lamar County residents come out to see the display, but also to listen to live music by Paris Municipal Band, and also catch the blue skies parachute team in action.
This was the second year the show took place at Wildcat stadium.
Rotary club members say the firework show started 29 years ago when they saw a need for one in the city.
"All the neighboring cities had a firework show," said Rotary Club member and event chair Sally Wright. "So the Rotarian's had an idea and said let's do this it could be a fundraiser for us so lets organize this firework show."
"For the children, this is one thing that really stands out to them that they can remember," said Rotary Club President Sherry White.
Organizers hope to raise $20,000, $18,000 of which will pay for the event. Organizers thanked all the sponsors who made Thursday's event possible.
