LAMAR COUNTY, TEXAS - The 29th annual Tour de Paris kicks off Saturday.
Almost 600 people, from all over the U.S., have registered for Saturday's race.
Paris Tourism Director Becky Semple says they hope 1,000 people take part .
Cyclists can still register at the Love Civic Center until 8 P.M. Friday night and from 6 A.M. to 8 A.M. Saturday morning.
"They see some things when they're out riding their bike and they want to come back and visit it again." said Semple. "They tell us this is a wonderful place to come for just a relaxing weekend."
The event kicks off at 8 A.M. Saturday at the Love Civic Center.
Cyclists will receive a T-shirt, a hamburger and a fruit smoothie when they finish.
