SHERMAN, Tex -- Sherman firefighters respond to a call of a possible gas leak, only to find crude oil bubbling from the ground.

Fire Chief Jeff Jones says a crude oil line ruptured just before 7:30 pm Thursday, at North Creek and Travis Street, in the neighborhood behind Town Center.

Jones says there is no danger to anyone in the area, but at least 80 gallons of crude has spilled into a field.

Representatives from the company operating the pipeline are responding to the scene, to shut down the well head and stop the leak. The Grayson County Environmental Officer is investigating.
