6-14-06 - Good samaritans in the city of Madill are helping out their fellow citizens this week. Members of the First Baptist Church in Madill are holding their Second Annual Servants With a Task, or "SWAT" week.
Around 100 volunteers spend the week fixing up houses in town. People in need submit applications, and the church selects a handful of houses based on need for that week, free of charge.
The volunteers do everything from house painting, putting in new doors, even putting up new siding.
Carolyn White, Missions Coordinator for First Baptist Church, said, "We just feel like it's our job and we just want to help out as much as we can."
The group is working on seven houses this week. It takes them about five days to complete all of their projects.
