6-20-06 - Ardmore's Higher Education Center is hoping to offer four-year classes soon, but first they need a new facility. That search led board members to look at Regional Park as a possible site.
Last night, Higher Education Center Director Dr. Steven Mills pitched the idea to the regional park trust authority. The center is bursting at the seams with new students; they've had to host some classes at Ardmore High.
Board members feel the park's natural beauty and proximity to I-35 is just too good to pass up. They're looking at 40 to 80 acres on the southeast side.
The Park Trust Authority could make a recommendation to the city council as soon as September. Of course, commissioners will have a final say.
