ADA, Okla. (AP) - A man convicted of raping and killing an Ada woman in 1982 is being sentenced to life in prison after the jury deadlocked 11-to-1 on whether to sentence him to death.
Glen Gore was convicted of killing Debra Sue Carter and
prosecutors asked for the death penalty.
The jurors deliberated more than ten-and-a-half hours before
Judge Thomas Landrith dismissed them shortly before 2:30 Friday
morning and sentenced Gore to life without parole.
This is Gore's second conviction in the case. His first conviction and death sentence were overturned and a new trial ordered because he wasn't allowed to present evidence that someone else killed Carter.
