Church Camp Connections in Deadly Wreck

6-30-06 - Five people have been killed in a head-on accident west of Madill. Troopers say one of the cars was headed to a local church camp and the other had just come from another camp in Marshall County.

The accident happened at 11:13am on Highway 70 just west of Madill.
Two vehicles were involved - a Pontiac Grand Am and a Chevy Corsica. Troopers say six people were in the Grand Am while one person was in the Corsica. One of the sedans went left of center, striking the other car head-on. The driver of the Corsica was killed while four people in the Grand Am died, including two children. State troopers have confirmed five of those people were not buckled up.

The driver, 32-year-old Bremon Jason Cozort of Pauls Valley died at the scene. Also killed in the Grand AM were 5-year-old Jasie Cozort, 12-year-old Mitchell Cozort, and 57-year-old Anita Winn.

Two other in the Grand Am survived, including 17-year-old Lauren Manning and 32-year-old Krisitie Cozort.

52-year-old Danny Joe Branham of Fletcher, Oklahoma was driving the Chevrolet and was on his way to pick up his daughter at the Cross Point Church Camp in Kingston.
