7-1-06 – A Grayson County family is mourning the loss of a 23-year-old husband and father. According to his family, the Army notified them that Sergeant James Patrick Muldoon of Bells was killed by enemy fire during a combat raid in northern Iraq on Thursday.

Thursday night, his wife, Ashlee Muldoon was notified. She says her husband planned on coming home for R&R in August. The couple has a daughter, Pyper, who turns two this month.

Sergeant Muldoon was deployed with the 368th Cavalry of the 4th Infantry division out of Fort Carson, Colorado.

He was on his second tour of duty.
