Roads will remain treacherous from snow and sleet until mid-day, when sunshine shroud melt most of it away. Snow is likely to remain on the ground until Friday.
7-8-06 – Funeral services for a local soldier will be held Monday morning. Sergeant James Patrick Muldoon died on June 29th in Balad, Iraq from injuries he sustained that day in Baquba. Sgt. Muldoon was shot while manning a control point during combat operations. He was 23 years old.
Services will be held on Monday, July 10th at the Truth Tabernacle Church on Highway 75 in Denison. The funeral begins at 10:00 a.m. Family night will be held at the Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman on Sunday, July 9th between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m.
Sgt. Muldoon graduated from Bells High School in 2001. He leaves behind a wife and young daughter.
He was on his second tour of duty.
