7-10-06 - Services for a North Texas soldier killed in Iraq were held this morning in Denison. Sergeant James Muldoon, 23, was shot and killed on June 29 while manning a control point during combat operations.
The young solider from Bells, Texas left behind a wife and a two-year-old daughter.
During the funeral, a group of motorcycle riders known as the Patriot Guard led a procession from the Truth Tabernacle Church in Denison to the cemetery in Bells.
Sgt. Muldoon was deployed with the 368th Cavalry of the 4th Infantry division out of Fort Carson, Colorado. He was on his second tour of duty.
Muldoon graduated from Bells High School in 2001. He joined the Army the summer before his senior year, working in the reserves before becoming active.
