Several rounds of thunderstorms through Saturday will have the potential to produce flooding rains, and a few isolated hail cores or strong winds are possible. Never drive into flooded areas...turn around, don't drown!
7-14-06 -Authorities say a charter boat employee drowned on Lake Texoma Friday afternoon. Witnesses say 36-year-old Michael Stephens of Pottsboro dove into the water around 2pm to fix a broken propeller.
Stephens never surfaced and other passengers on the 52 foot houseboat went under to look for him and found Stephens not breathing.
The boat drove to Highport Marina, where the Stephens was transported to a hospital. Witnesses at the scene say despite several minutes of CPR, the Stephens had no vital signs.
He was pronounced dead upon arriving at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.
The accident happened on the west side of the North Island in Marshall County around 2:00 p.m. Friday afternoon.
