Wednesday and Thursday are Weather Aware days due to the potential for locally heavy rainfall. Beware of flooded road-ways and never drive around barricades or into water more than six inches deep. High rainfall rates may reduce visibility and also increase the risk of hydroplaning. Turn around, don’t drown! Isolated strong thunderstorms may develop late Wednesday afternoon, but widespread severe weather does not appear to be likely at this time.
7-26-06 A business fire kept nine departments busy in Pilot Point.
A large metal structure sent thick, black smoke into the air around one this afternoon.
'L' and 'N' Cabinets, a longtime Pilot Point business, was completely destroyed. It's located just off The Square in Pilot Point.
Fire crews were able to get the fire under control in less than an hour and kept it from spreading to nearby businesses.
There were no injuries, and there is no word on a cause.
