Wednesday and Thursday are Weather Aware days due to the potential for locally heavy rainfall. Beware of flooded road-ways and never drive around barricades or into water more than six inches deep. High rainfall rates may reduce visibility and also increase the risk of hydroplaning. Turn around, don’t drown! Isolated strong thunderstorms may develop late Wednesday afternoon, but widespread severe weather does not appear to be likely at this time.
7-28-06 One of the Howe Police Department's finest is now a special deputy for the U.S. Marshals.
As his family and fellow officers looked on, Bob Douglas became the first officer from Howe to be sworn in.
U.S. Marshal John Moore from the east Texas district performed the ceremony. Douglas will now be able to assist in federal and local fugitive searches.
Douglas, who is a former deputy sheriff, has more than two decades of law enforcement experience in Grayson County.
