ARDMORE, Okla. ― Preparations for this year's Chigger Chase are underway in Ardmore.

The annual holiday run will take place Saturday at Ardmore Regional Park. Proceeds will go to the Family Shelter of Southern Oklahoma.

Children will have the chance to chase "Charlie the Chigger" in a quarter-mile or half-mile run. Adults can participate in a 5K run. Organizers say it's a good way to bring in the holidays and get some exercise.

“They chase Charlie the Chigger, so that's always a lot of fun. Unfortunately, Charlie has always finished in last place, but this year he's been training pretty hard, and I think he's going to do better," organizer Curtis Davidson says.

You can register on site. Entry fees range from $15-$25. The races begin at 4:45 pm. on Saturday, November 22.
