08-04-06 – Tax free weekend in Texas begins August 4th and it gives parents a chance to save on school clothes.
This is the fifth year for tax-free shopping, and local shoppers say it’s still a great time to purchase items they need.
Not all items are tax-exempt; the tax exemption is mostly limited to clothing items under $100.
In past years, many Oklahoma residents have made the trip from north of the Red River to take part in the tax-free shopping, but some managers say they’re afraid Oklahoma shoppers will avoid the trip this year because of rising gas prices.
