08-04-06 – Residents in the city of Bonham are being asked to cut back on water usage.
Because of the ongoing drought and the increasing demand for water, the Bonham Water Treatment Plant is approaching its capacity to deliver water. Now, the city has moved to stage two of its emergency water demand plan.
City officials are asking residents to stop watering their lawns and landscaping, and avoid using a hose to wash off paved areas or buildings. The city hopes to reduce demand by 15 percent.
