8-7-06 A murder suspect pled guilty Monday in a Carter County courtroom moments before his trial began.
Fifty-three-year-old Robert Wright changed his plea to guilty just before the start of opening arguments.
Wright was charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of 63-year-old Lacy Lee.
He also faced shooting with intent to kill charges for the shooting of Gerald Martin. That charges was dropped in exchange for his plea.
Last December, investigators say Wright went to a house to sell the two men a gun but the deal went bad.
He faces life in prison with or without parole. A sentencing date has not been set.
