08-08-06 - A Tom Bean man, accused of firing at Sherman police officers last December, has been sentenced to spend the next 25 years in jail.
22-year-old Bobby Lee Murphy pleaded guilty Tuesday to two counts of attempted capital murder.
Murphy was shot by Sherman police at a gas station off of FM 1417 in December 8, 2005. Police say it happened after he ran away on foot with a shotgun.
Murphy's grandmother and 6-week old baby were in the courtroom during the sentence. 66-year-old Judy Dodson Brown is accused of mailing a controlled substance to the jail this summer in an attempt to give Murphy medication.
