8-15- 06 - An early morning fire took the life of a Johnston County woman on Thursday has now been ruled as a case of arson. Firefighters found the woman inside while her boyfriend was moving cars out front
The call went out at about 3:30 Thursday morning, just two miles west of Mannsville. By the time firefighters arrived at the home on Highway 199, it was completely involved.
The state fire marshall says the fire started outside the home - a clear sign of arson. So far, no charges have been filed and authorities have not released the name of the elderly victim because her next of kin have not been found.
