8-12-06 - LINDSAY, Okla. (AP) - An 82-year-old Maysville man was hit by a truck and killed as he crossed a county road southeast of Lindsay.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Thomas Grimes was taken to a Norman hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The patrol says Grimes was walking across a Garvin County road about 8:30 last night when he was hit by a pickup driven by Kevin Scruggs of Lindsay. Scruggs wasn't injured in the crash.
So far this year, the OHP says 453 people have been killed on Oklahoma roads and highways this year. That's an increase of 430 deaths during the same time last year.
