08-16-06 - An escaped inmate out of McCalester, who was on the run for six days, was caught in Murray County Tuesday night.
Twenty two-year-old Johnny Ray Letcher walked out of the Jackie Brannon Correctional Center sometime Friday afternoon. Authorities didn't notice it until a 4:30 PM head count.
Murray County authorities got a call he was heading their way in a family members vehicle, after he left the Treasure Island Casino in Pauls Valley when deputies stopped him near Davis.
He was serving a 10 year sentence for attempting to steal anhydrous in Cotton County.
Deputies don't expect charges to be filed against the person he was riding with. For now, Letcher will be held in the State Penitentiary.
