$1 Million in Stolen Loot Recovered

Carter County deputies uncovered a theft ring Wednesday afternoon west of Springer. Authorities found more than one million dollars worth of stolen property inside a building off Highway 53.

The items are believed to be stolen from several different counties including Payne, McClain, and Cleveland.

Two semis, a large John Deere tractor, three flatbed trailers with hay, several four wheelers and some tools were found, all totaling more than one million dollars.

Deputies were called out to the area late last night to investigate some suspicious activity, and after receiving a tip this afternoon, they inspected the area and found the stolen merchandise. They also took a man into custody.

28-year-old Kevin Sean Easley was booked into the Carter County Jail where charges are still pending against him.
