KINGSTON, Okla. (AP) - Plans to close the Lake Texoma Lodge may be put on hold.
Clifton Scott, land secretary for the Commissioners of the Land Office, says the agency hasn't decided whether to close the lodge on September 30th, as was previously planned.
Discussions to close the lodge last week caused concern among local vendors and lodge employees. Several say businesses may be irreparably harmed if visitors find the lodge closed and stay away.
Scott says the lodge loses thousands of dollars after September and commissioners may not want to keep it open. But they may find that a bidder who wants to buy the property will feel differently.
Bids will be open Wednesday and discussed at the next land commissioners meeting on September 14th.
