ARDMORE, Okla. ― There’s a new incentive to donate blood today in Ardmore― you could win a new car.

The Oklahoma Blood Institute is holding a contest to give away a new 2008 Saturn Astra. All you have to do is donate at any OBI blood drive. Employees at the Valero plant in Ardmore did just that Thursday morning.

"We need all types, specifically 'O' negative and 'O' positive, those types. 'O' positive is the most common, and then 'O' negative can be transfused to anybody, so those two types are most important, but honestly we need every type," Susan Crews from the Oklahoma Blood Institute says.

You have until February 6 to enter the car giveaway contest. If you don't want the car, you can take a cash prize instead.

The blood drive runs from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Valero refinery in Ardmore.
