DENISON, Tex. ― A high speed chase kept authorities in Denison busy early Wednesday afternoon.

The chase started around 2 p.m. and ended on Highway 69 in Denison near Travis Street.

Grayson County Sheriff’s deputies, Denison police, and DPS Troopers were all after the driver before the chase ended in southeast Denison.

The pursuit reached speeds of more than 100 miles per hour through Sherman and Denison.

The suspect ran into a trooper's cruiser in the end.

The driver ran, but was captured. A passenger in the vehicle was also captured.

We’ll post more details when we have them.

Smartman spells loser wrong and then Funnyman tells him "Well, if you had payed closer attention" Here's a hint funnyman, drop the YE and add just the little I and you get the word PAID.

Response to Perplexed: Didn't you notice most of the insults on this blog were hurled at Texans, not by Texans? Seems to go both ways when it comes to making fun accross the river; however, when Timothy McVie bombed the Federal Building, PLENTY of Texans were there ASAP with a helping hand and his/her prayers. So, lighten up.

Sounds like some punks wanting to be on the TV show called "Why I Ran".

I like how the supposed "Oklahoma Smartman" doesn't know how to spell losers. I guess in Oklahoma, the fact that he can read and write, however poorly, makes him smarter than average!

SMARTMAN IN OKLAHOMA: Where did you read from "funnyman" that he said 100 mph is only 25 mph more than 55 mph? He said "25 mph OVER the AVERAGE driving speeds." That means if the "high speed chase" is 55 mph then the "AVERAGE" speed is 30. Funnymans comment is not very long so it shouldn't be very hard for you to read it again and figure out what he meant. Your the one not paying attention in school.

hey funnyman; dont worry about those okies they have no since of humor. and they hold up traffic all thru OUR great state of TEXAS.

I have lived in Texas and Oklahoma---idiots do not have borders. It's not like they get to the state line and stop "well good golly- can't cross that" Texas nor Oklahoma have a market on the idiots. Nor does any nationality. SO ALL WE CAN HOPE FOR IS THAT THE ONLY ONES AROUND WHEN THEY DO GET STUPID--IS OTHER IDIOTS THAT ENJOY PUTTING OUR LIVES IN DANGER.

HAHA! 'smartman' is the epitome of Oklahomans! You call yourself 'smart'. Well, maybe by Oklahoma standards, but lets take a look at your comment, shall we? First, you imply that '100mph may be 25mph over the speed limit'. Well, if you had payed closer attention, you would realize that the JOKE was referring to 55mph being 25mph over the average Oklahoma driver (which would be 30mph). I realize without a calculator that must've been difficult for you. Any 1st grade Texan could've helped you with that, though. However, your finale was my personal favorite. You attempt to bash Texas, and call us names, then you mispell 'LOSER'! Wow! I haven't laughed this hard in a while! I guess Oklahomans ARE good for something. Comic relief!

Funnyman & Smartman must be brothes. Endangering someones life is not something to be proud of. It does not matter where you come from. Texas is not better than Oklahoma or any other state. It is not funny when a police officer has to chase someone and their car or themself get hurt.

I live in Texas work in oklahoma and i have seen bad drivers on both sides of the river.

Posted by: Perplexed Location: Oklahoma on Dec 17, 2008 at 09:48 PM
So I want to know why is it that nearly every Texan thinks that he/she (and the entire state of Texas) are better than Oklahomans? Last time I checked God created us all in his image and I'm not aware that this has changed. When will people ever learn?

Thank God all this horrible ice melted this could have been tragic winter weather event.

funnyman should have paid attention in school instead of trying to be funny. I guess if you're from texas, you might think that 100 mph is only 25 mph more than 55 mph. We didn't have to see the speed to know that this chase happened in texas. Just watch the video. It looks like it took about 50 Denison, Grayson Co. and DPS cops to catch that great texas driver that crashed into a cop car. Yeah. He showed them how good texans drive. About as good as they play football! LOOSERS!

Posted by: funnyman Location: denison on Dec 17, 2008 at 05:48 PM
With speeds of 100mph, you know the incident happened in Texas. Oklahoma high speed chases result in tops speeds of 55mph. This is about 25mph over the average driving speeds north of the Red River!
