DURANT, Okla. ― A few months ago we told you the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety was out of driver's manuals. By the end of next week, they should be back in stock all across the Sooner State.

One-hundred-thousand driver's manuals with updated covers feature an anti-drunk driving initiative by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

OHP Trooper Ronnie Hampton says it is funding from that initiative that made the new manuals possible.

"You know where you may put a sign up on Highway 69 and catch that many people, this is just another way of them advertising that campaign," Trooper Ronnie Hampton says.

Those manuals will be available at DPS Offices and Driver's License Offices statewide.

Okies cant drive.

Its about time!! Okies sure could use a refresher course. They Drive in the left hand lane going 55 and wont get over for anything. You have to pass them in the slow lane just to get by them so you can reach the speed limit. By the way, how does DPS run out of Drivers manuals? They sure have their stuff together up there to the North. If they would quit worrying about trying to marry their sisters and cousins and start worrying about important things, maybe they would be better off.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's noticed that folks "North of the Red River" lose I.Q. points once they get behind a steering wheel!

Funny, Texas. My whole life when a car was driving wild and following too close, my parents would say "must be a Texan". Sure enough they would go flying around us in a no passing zone 30 miles over the limit with Texas tags.

I hope the OHP had them printed with large text and simple, easy to read text, like a childs story book.
