DENISON, TX A Denison family gets a home for Christmas this holiday season.

When Patricia Tippitt found out she was going to get a new home she was overwhelmed.

"I was jumping up and down, and I was crying and everything, just really excited," said Patricia Tippitt.

The folks at Habitat for Humanity of Grayson County had an even bigger gift in mind.

"We wanted the family to celebrate Christmas in their own home, so it was a stated goal from the start," said the Executive Director for Habitat for Humanity of Grayson County, Laurie Mealy.

Saturday that goal was met when Tippitt and her family were presented the key to their new home, just 5 days before Christmas.

Work began on the home in late September.

Habitat along with many other organizations came together to give a Denison family true comfort and joy for the holidays.

The home is built mostly by volunteers, and is the first home in Denison to receive a 5 Star Energy star rating which will save the new home owners 10 to 20 percent on the energy bills.

"Habitat for Humanities mission is to provide simple descent affordable housing for those people in need," said Mealy.

This proves that there truly is no place like home for the holidays.
