OHP officials with Troop 'F' in Ardmore are reporting that the number for alcohol related incidents over last years new years holiday is down compared to years before.

There was one alcohol related accident last year, but this year the goal is to have none.

"We set up at various locations where many crashes and/or drinking and driving occur. We just look for bad driving habits. We just get out there and look hard for them,” said Trooper Walter Jack, with Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Many feel they are okay to drive after two or three drinks, but that may put you over the limit, and OHP officials say you may not only ruin your own life but that of others as well.

Just because you wear a badge does not make you right and I'm sure alot of the people know what I mean, And yes why should the OHP be having so-called CRACK DOWN'S on drinking and driving during the holiday's is this the only time when people drink?. I have myself seen officer's while eating drink a couple of beer's then get behind the wheel of a vehicle like they are above the law, No one is above the law I don't care if you wear a badge or your a judge or whatever it seem's to me that alot of the people that wear a badge just want the paycheck. Have you ever wondered why you don't see TO PROTECT AND SERVE on the unit's anymore? At one time officer's were someone that people looked up to and knew they were there to protect you, Kid's today think officer's are the bad guy's. And that in itself is SAD, So ZYKLON it isnt that the bosses force a crack down. They truly believe that it's good P/R for the dept:

Why are they having to crack down? Have they been letting it slide in the past. They are supposed to be arresting criminals, not waiting until the bosses force a crack down.

This goes especially for all YOU area coaches out there in Texhoma that think that getting drunk is "cool." You know who you are! And if I saw you drinking and driving, I would turn you in to the law!

They look for a reason to pull you over after Midnite on a weekend and Just "assum" you have been drinking.. yes it's not safe to do and the ones that just have that one drink and drive are the ones that go to jail and the Other "Alcoholics" get by with it..

And as well they should if a person does'nt respect themselves enough not to get behind the wheel after drinkng, Then they do not respect anything and if they do drink and drive and just happen to have an accident and the only person they hurt or kill are themselves fine so be it, But as you know that's not alway's the case. The drunk usally lives and the children and or the adult's in the other vehicle are the one's that will suffer and or die, So I APPLAUD the HIGHWAY PATROL for the job they do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. I do not like to hear about anyone losing their life because thay think that drinking is cool. So the LAWS need to be changed to the point that it really will make people think before drinking and driving.......
