PONTOTOC COUNTY, OK -- A bar fight near Ada turned into a police chase that ended with one man shot.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol says this started around 10:30 p.m. Saturday night at a bar in the town of Union Valley just a few miles outside of Ada.

According to the manager at the "Young Guns Bar and Grill," a man by the name of Gary Humphries pulled a weapon on him and threatened him.

"One of his cousins over here was shooting pool and he walked up behind him and kind of stuck him with a cue stick. I got mad and told him to get out,” said Don Young, the bar manager.

According to OHP, after Humphries left the bar, officials attempted to pull him over, but he refused to, which led into a chase that ended on Highway 3, across the Coal County border.

OHP officials say they used tactical vehicle intervention to stop the vehicle. After the vehicle was stopped, officials say Humphries drove at the trooper.

Trooper Keith Teal then fired his weapon. The bullet hit Humphries in the arm, and traveled to his chest cavity.

Humphries was transported to Valley View Regional Hospital in Ada where he is in the ICU in stable condition.
