Elected officials in Cooke County came to work for at least part of the holiday on Thursday. Several officeholders were sworn into office.

Sheriff Mike Compton is going into his 12th year serving the county. Others like Gary Hollowell say they're excited to serve another term. But Hollowell says there are challenges that are ahead.

"Trying to keep 9-thousand people happy. Roads and bridges are always the big challenge or thats what gets the most publicity and by far the biggest challenge," Hollowell said.
